The Fest "Night of Music in Gatchina", became a musical
tradition in St. Petersburg region. It is one of the most brilliant, unusual and memorable open-air concert in Russia.
The scene is located on the surface of White Lake in front of the majestic Gatchina Palace.
Symphonic music, a superb architectural monument, the natural landscape are in striking harmony, and they give us an unforgettable experience.
More than 15,000 listeners and viewers of Gatchina, St. Petersburg and other cities and countries were guests of the festival in 2012. The concert consisted of works by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The fourth festival, which will take place on the night of 6 July 7, 2013th, will be an international one.
Tatiana Mironova talked about her visiting to the concert in 2012 -
"How does the city dweller want to spend a weekend?
I think at least: to spend the weekend with his family, to meet friends, to have a rest...
A trip to Gatchina on a concert "Night Music", corresponded to all the conditions of a good holiday.
We decided, that we would go to the concert! We invited friends and hit the road.
We could not found parking as early as ten in the evening, around the Gatchina Palace. All of them were occupied.
There were many tour buses with a letter plate on the windshield, "Night of Music".
Residents and visitors of Gatchina as small rivulets flocked to the park entrance.
"Piano Concerto No. 2 " by Sergei Rachmaninoff's was in the first part, which began at 23 pm,. It was a very soulful melody.
Acoustics was excellent. The sounds of music floated over the lake. Clouds, that were standing motionless, were listening to them. Music was amazing, probably from the fact that her impression was intensified by surrounding beauty of the park, the lake, the palace...
We settled on the seats. The orchestra was in front of us, across the lake.
There was a lot of elegantly dressed public.
At the beginning of the first part of the concert the people still took their seats on the benches, but gradually all around became quiet, and people were listening sounds of music intently.
They looked sharply at the young man, who was talking loudly on the phone that he quickly walked away.
Our daughter is a student. She likes traveling on rock festivals near Moscow, which gathered tens of thousands of young people from all over Russia. Before traveling to Gatchina she did not believe that would be so many willing to listen to classical music at night.
However, on seeing how many people arrived to the concert, she believed it.
The spectators were located around the clearing of the concert, they felt quite at ease: Folding chairs, travelling rugs...
Around there were happy faces of tourists, foreigners, young people and children. A peaceful atmosphere was there despite the night and the crowd.
A lot of people would like to listen to classical music, but they often would not like to visit the concert because of the "format" of philharmonic halls, of a dress code, of a quite restrained degree of the emotions in assessing musicians.
So the idea of the organizers of the concert "Night Music" is wonderful- to give everybody an opportunity to join the art."
Gala concert "Music Night " 2013 will be held on the night of 6 to 7 July in the Palace Park" Gatchina ".

The content of the concert "Night of Music in Gatchina 2013" diverse than ever before and will be able to meet the spiritual needs of both amateur of classics so and fans of music in the genre of crossover.
Symphonic masterpieces of Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, and excerpts from musicals by Leonard Bernstein and piano concert by George Gershwin will sound over lake surface.

The famous "Triumphant Overture, 1812" by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky will be at the end of the concert.
Scenic effects, that laid down in the score of the composer, symbolizing the glory of Russian arms and the power of the Russian spirit, will be embodied in the natural scenery of the Gatchina Palace : holiday bell ringing will flow directly from the bell tower of the palace, and the volleys of the cannons are going to sound together with the volleys of the holiday fireworks.
